Rice price today (June 9): Rice price increased, rice price leveled off

It was noted that the price of rice today (June 9) in the domestic market fluctuated slightly when the price of raw rice increased by 100 VND/kg, the price of rice went sideways. In the past week, rice prices tended to increase by 100 – 150 VND/kg for some types of rice.
Rice prices today (June 9) in the Mekong Delta region are on an upward trend with raw rice prices moving sideways.

In the rice market, today’s price does not fluctuate. According to updates from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province, IR 50404 rice price fluctuates around 7,400 – 7,500 VND/kg; Long An sticky rice (dried) at 9,500 – 9,700 VND/kg; Dai Thom 8 rice price is 7,800 – 8,000 VND/kg; OM 5451 rice price is stable at 7,600 – 7,700 VND/kg; OM 18 rice costs 7,800 – 8,000 VND/kg; OM 380 ranges from 7,500 – 7,600 VND/kg; Japanese rice is at 7,800 – 8,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa 9 rice costs 7,600 – 7,700 VND/kg and Nang Nhen rice (dried) at 20,000 VND/kg; 3-month sticky rice (dried) 8,800 – 9,000 VND/kg.

Although rice prices are quite stable, few people buy them. Specifically in Hau Giang, many traders continue to stop buying; Or in Kien Giang and Can Tho, prices dropped slightly and few buyers.

Today’s rice price has been adjusted for long-grain Thai fragrant rice. In particular, rice is often purchased by traders at a price of about 16,000 – 17,000 VND/kg. At the same time, other rice products kept their listed prices unchanged compared to yesterday. The bran market continues to be “quiet”, fluctuating between 9,000 – 10,000 VND/kg.

For rice, the price of IR 504 raw rice fluctuates around 11,050 – 11,150 VND/kg, an increase of 100 VND/kg.

Today’s by-products are unchanged. Currently, the price of dry bran is at 7,350 – 7,450 VND/kg. Accordingly, the price of IR 504 panels remains stable at 10,100 – 10,200 VND/kg.

At retail markets, rice prices are adjusted for some rice products. Currently, Nang Nhen rice has the highest listed price of 30,000 VND/kg; Jasmine rice 18,000 – 20,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa rice 20,000 VND/kg; Regular rice usually fluctuates around 17,000 – 18,000 VND/kg; Thai pineapple with long seeds 20,000 – 21,000 VND/kg; Huong Lai rice 20,000 VND/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice 20,000 VND/kg; Common white rice 18,000 VND/kg; Soc rice usually costs 17,000 – 19,000 VND/kg; Soc Thai rice costs 18,500 VND/kg; Japanese rice costs 22,000 VND/kg.

In the export market, Vietnam’s export rice prices fluctuated in opposite directions, increasing with 100% broken rice, while decreasing with 25% broken rice and standard rice. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), standard 5% broken rice is currently at 573 USD/ton; 25% broken rice at 552 USD/ton, down 6 USD; 100% broken rice remains stable at 483 USD/ton, an increase of 5 USD.
