According to updates from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province, the price of IR 504 rice is at 9,000 – 9,200 VND/kg; Dai Thom 8 rice maintains around the mark of 9,600 – 9,700 VND/kg; OM 18 at 9,600 – 9,800 VND/kg; OM 5451 at 9,300 – 9,500 VND/kg; Nang Hoa 9 remains stable at 9,400 – 9,600 VND/kg; OM 380 rice fluctuates around 8,600 – 8,800 VND/kg.

Rice prices today increased for rice products

Regarding rice products, the price of brown rice of all types today continues to increase. Accordingly, at market rice warehouses in An Cu and Cai Be (Tien Giang), the price of raw rice OM 18 and Dai Thom 8 is at 13,600 – 13,800 VND/kg, an increase of 200 VND/kg; OM 5451 raw rice fluctuates around 13,300 – 13,500 VND/kg, an increase of 200 VND/kg. In Sa Dec (Dong Thap), fragrant rice is at 13,000 – 12,300 VND/kg, an increase of 300 VND/kg; beautiful fragrance 13,400 – 13,600 VND/kg, increased 300 – 400 VND/kg; OM 5451 rice 13,100 – 13,300 VND/kg, increased 400 – 500 VND/kg.

At export warehouses, the price of IR 504 Vietnamese raw rice remains at 13,050 – 13,150 VND/kg; Raw rice fluctuates at 12,900 – 13,000 VND/kg; Soc Trang raw rice at 12,250 – 12,350 VND/kg; OM 5451 raw rice at 13,700 – 13,800 VND/kg; Raw rice OM 18, Dai Thom 8 at 14,050 – 14,150 VND/kg.

In the rice market, today the price of all types of rice continues to increase by 200 – 500 VND/kg compared to yesterday. Currently, the amount of rice arriving is low due to Tet, some warehouses still have contracts until February 7 for the Tet holiday, some factories and warehouses are preparing to buy and pack goods to deliver to the North to open spring… beautiful products are easy to sell, expensive. Some warehouses yesterday afternoon also started buying again during Tet after the rice price dropped.

In the export market, Vietnam’s export rice price decreased slightly by 2-3 USD/ton. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), the current price of 25% broken rice is at 612 USD/ton, down 2 USD/ton; 5% broken rice is at 639 USD/ton, down 3 USD/ton.
